Criminal Defense: Measure 11 Mandatory Minimum Sentences

Oregon voters approved Ballot Measure 11 in November 1994 to apply mandatory minimum prison sentences to certain crimes against persons committed on or after April 1, 1995, with no possibility for any reduction in sentence, such as for good behavior. Measure 11 applies not only to adults, but to 15, 16, and 17 year old children.

It is also important that your lawyer understands your charges and the criminal code, and the sentencing guidelines, and is able explain the charges as well as any available statutory defenses.
