If you suspect that you or your loved one is being, or has been, abused or mistreated, bring it immediately to the attention of an attorney. If the attorney so advises, you should bring the abuse to the attention of the nursing home management and the appropriate state agencies. Make it clear to them now that you are documenting the treatment received and that you will file a report with the State Department of Health and Licensing (or other state health agency depending on your location) if it does not improve. Be sure to follow up on your discussion and feel free to contact our rapid response team here at Case & Dusterhoff, LLP.

At Case & Dusterhoff, LLP, these types of cases are handled by James D. Case, R. Bruce Dusterhoff, Benjamin O. Falk, and Alex Golubitsky.
