Juvenile Defense: Department of Human Services

DHS, sometimes known as CSD or SOSCF, has a division called Children's Protective Services that investigates allegations of abuse or neglect in the home when minor children are being affected. DHS sometimes asks the court to remove children from the care of their parents and place them in foster care. There is nothing more sacred or important than the relationship between parents and children. At Case & Dusterhoff, LLP we understand this. If DHS does get temporary custody of your children, in most cases they are required by law to provide reasonable efforts to reunify the family as soon as possible. Many DHS caseworkers work incredibly hard and have huge caseloads, making it next to impossible to give every family the attention it deserves. At Case & Dusterhoff, LLP we make sure that DHS is doing all that is possible under the law reunify or keep the family together, and that the courts apply the law appropriately when making placement decisions. We also do our best to ensure that the parent(s) is not overburdened with unnecessary services so that they can efficiently and effectively address the concerns put forth by the state.

At Case & Dusterhoff, LLP these cases are handled by Benjamin O. Falk.
